COURTNEY E. ANDERSON BROADHEAD, ESQ. opened her solo private practice law firm, The Law Offices of Courtney E. Anderson, on September 10th, 1998, in Austin, Texas. In 2014 the firm transitioned to an internet based "virtual" law office structure delivering Collaborative Limited Representation services and in 2020 became Anderson Broadhead Law Firm, PLLC. Attorney Anderson currently focuses her practice on ADR (as an arbitrator and mediator), Business Law, Entertainment, Entrepreneurship and Real Estate legal services. She also serves as an appearance counsel local advocate for law firms of record representing plaintiffs in creditor debt collection, insurance defense, real estate and mediations. Ms. Anderson has over two decades of practice experience in litigation and transactional law as a general practitioner (in areas including family law, criminal defense, civil rights, personal injury, CPS, business law, employment law, intellectual property, probate, real estate, collections law for both debtor and creditor, bankruptcy, entertainment law and other substantive areas). Criminal law experience includes felony and misdemeanor case defense (e.g., assault, DWI, family violence, sexual assault, drug possession, etc.). Ms. Anderson was selected to serve as a Certified Hearing Examiner for the Texas Education Agency (acting as an administrative judge) in 2011. In this capacity she presided over cases (issued orders, conducted hearings and rendered decisions) when a public-school district proposed action to terminate the employment contract of an educator. Ms. Anderson is also a mediator and arbitrator (trained at The University of Texas School of Law). Attorney Anderson has been a member of The State Bar of Texas since 1998 (Bar # 24006185) and The State Bar of Nevada (from 2012-2014 as an Emeritus Attorney only - Bar # 12544C). She also has been a member of the Williamson County Bar Association and the Austin Bar Association. Attorney Anderson was recognized in 2013 for her Pro Bono service by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, Pro Bono Project as a member of the "50 Hours Club: for dedication and service to the community by providing pro bono legal services to low income clients." In 2014, she was recognized as a member of the “100 Hours Club.” Prior to opening her law practice, Ms. Anderson served as a lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin - McCombs School of Business, teaching undergraduate business law. Professor Anderson taught Ethical Leadership in Organizations & Society in The Graduate School, Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the University of Maryland University College (Global Campus) from 2006-2020. Her expertise is in the realm of workplace relationship policy and applied experiential entrepreneurship. Professor Anderson has advised numerous domestic and international entities including Boeing, Cirque du Soleil, The United States House of Representatives and Wal-Mart. Ms. Anderson received the “2011 Strategic Leadership Award”at the World HRD (Human Resources Development) Congress in Mumbai, India. Professor Anderson received the 2013 UMUC Stanley J. Drazek Teaching Excellence Award for The Graduate School and the 2012 UMUC Teaching Recognition Award for The Graduate School. Ms. Anderson is a member of the Academy of Legal Studies and served as Editor-in-Chief for the Atlantic Law Journal from 2020- 2022. Ms. Anderson also serves as a consultant, keynote speaker and corporate trainer. She has appeared as a legal and/ or business expert in The Wall Street Journal, Businessweek, USA Today, COSMOPOLITAN, CNN, FOX NEWS, MSNBC, and numerous other leading media outlets. Ms. Anderson holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from The University of Texas School of Law (1996), a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and Master of Science (M.S.) (Liberal Studies with emphasis in Psychology, Criminal Justice and Human Resource Management) from Tarleton State University, part of the Texas A&M University System (M.B.A. in 2000 and M.S. in 2013) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from The University of Texas at Austin, Texas (1992). |
